Rafter J Water and Sewer Replacement

From 2008 to 2010, Westwood Curtis was responsible for 9 phases of construction in the Rafter J Subdivision.  High groundwater and acidity levels in the soils had allowed electrolysis to deteriorate water services, saddles, valves and hydrants.  Along with crumbling manholes and water infiltration of the sewer mains, Westwood Curtis Construction had an incredible task to replace and repair the systems.  Because groundwater levels were within a few feet of the ground surface, most work had to be performed during the winter.  Construction crews were able to safely perform the work using trenchless service replacement techniques, horizontal boring, vacuum excavation, injection grouting and open excavation.
